Ladakh Travel By Air

By Road -

HRTC are public transport buses that stop only at important food joints while the HPTDC, which are semi-deluxe buses are available for tourists only from 1st July to 15th September every season and does all the sightseeing on the Manali – Leh Highway. Some HRTC Buses are available from Delhi too, which covers a total distance of 1260 km. The total travel time is about 35 hours. Some private buses also run between Leh and Manali.

Via Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir 

Deluxe buses by JKSRTC Srinagar are available from Leh to Srinagar almost daily. From Srinagar, the buses start at 8 in the morning and take a halt at Kargil. Timings of these buses mainly depend upon the climate condition at the Zojila Pass. If not comfortable with the idea of the public tourism buses then there are many tempo travelers available too from Srinagar, which also runs overnight.

Day 1 - Arrive Leh - 

Upon arrival you will met by our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel. Evening visit Shanti Stupa. Later visit the market (stay for 01hour only). Return back to the hotel for Overnight stay.

Day 2 - Sham Valley Excursion Up to Sangam 

After breakfast you drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh – Kargil Highway. And start our sightseeing with Hall of Fame (Museum Constructed by India Army) near Leh is worth a visit for every Indian, and proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, A drive of another 4 km took us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity & further Driving through a picturesque landscape we reached the Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River. After visiting above places, we drive back to Lehenroute visiting Spituk Monastery, built in 15th century during the reign of Grags ‘bum-lde, these new Gelug-pa monasteries was built like

  fortress on the summit of crags. Later return back to Leh. Rest of the day free on own.


 Day 3 - Leh - Nubra Valley Via Khardhung La  18,390 ft. (120 kms / 5-6 hrs)

Post breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road in The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. Above sea level.

Upon arrival in Nubra we check in at our Camp / Hotel in Hunder for Overnight stay. In the evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the

  world. A visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged. Overnight Stay at the Camp or Hotel.

Day 4 - Nubra - Turtuk- Nubra

After breakfast leave for visit to Turtuk.

Turtuk is about as close as you can get to Pakistan in India, physically and literally. This delightful village is crunched into the narrowing Shyok River valley in the furthest corner of India, right at the tippy-top of the map. Only when the Indo-Pakistan war ended in 1971, Turtuk (together with 5 other Balti villages) was then included within the Indian line of border control. It remained off limits until a few years ago and keeping it well off the beaten track. Turtuk in every sense a treat – culturally intact, untainted by tourism and simply delightful. Return back to Nubra valley for overnight stay.


Day 5 - Nubra to Panong


After an early breakfast check out and head for Pangong Tso via shyok. Travel time is approximately 5-6 hrs. On arrival at Pangong, check into camp for overnight stay.


Day 6 - Panong Lake To Leh 


Wake up calls by the migratory birds this morning. Indulge in the walk beside the lake or go for a photography splurge. Later depart for Leh enroute visit Hemis Gompa. On arrival at Leh, check into your hotel. Rest of the day free on own. Overnight in Leh.


Day 7 - Drop At Airport

INFORMATION ABOUT KANHA NATIONAL PARK - 

Kanha National Park is a renowned wildlife reserve located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The park covers an area of around 940 square kilometers and is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, including the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, sloth bear, and Barasingha (Swamp Deer).

The park is known for its lush forests, grasslands, and meadows, which provide a habitat for a variety of animals and birds. The Kanha National Park is also recognized for its conservation efforts, particularly in the preservation of the Barasingha, which was on the brink of extinction in the 1970s.

Visitors to the park can enjoy a range of activities, including jeep safaris, nature walks, and birdwatching. The park is open from October to June, with the best time to visit being between February and May. Kanha National Park is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.


Some of the commonly found wildlife in Kanha National Park :

Mammals : Tiger, Panther, Sambar, Barasingha, Chital, Black Buck, Barking Deer, Gaur, Langur, Wild Pig, Jackal, Chousingha, Sloth Bear, Wild Dog.

Birds : The Reserve brings around 300 species of birds and the most commonly seen birds are the Black Ibis, Bee-eaters, Cattle Egret, Pond Heron, Drongos, Blossom-Headed Parakeets, Common Teal, Grey Hornbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, Indian roller, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Little Grebes, Lesser Adjutants, Lesser Whistling Teal, Minivets, Pied Hornbill, Woodpecker, Pigeon, Paradise Flycatchers, Mynas, Red Wattled Lapwing, Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Steppe Eagle, Tickell's Flycatcher, White-eyed Buzzard, White-breasted Kingfisher, White-browed Fantail Flycatcher, Wood shrikes and more.

Flora in Kanha

Kanha is articulated with three major types of forests namely:

  • Moist Peninsular Sal Forests (3 C/C2)
  • Southern Tropical Moist Mixed Deciduous Forest (3 A/C 2a)
  • Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Mixed Forest (5 A/C-3)

These varieties are boasted with over 200 species of flowering plants and the major floras can be discovered here are: Sal, Saja, Lendia, Dhawa, Tendu, Palas, Bija, Mahua, Aonla, Achar and Bamboo. Apart from that many species of climbers, forbs and grass can also be found here.


Places of Interest

Bamni Dadar - The Bamni Dadar area is very next to Kanha Tiger Reserve which is an ideal place to hang out with family and friends. This is also called the sunset point which is scenic at its best point. Visitors can find the best sunset view from this spot. This sunset point equally brings the eminent natural splendors of the reserve area. The area is also being flourished with many grazing animals like ambhar, barking deer, gaurs, and other animals to make the ambience more magical.

Kanha Museum - The Kanha Museum is yet another attraction of the park and is located inside the vicinity. The Kanha Museum could be the most suited place for the wildlife lovers to get acquainted with the topography and different interesting aspects about the park. The museum also depicts different attributes and activities of the park and the tribal culture of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Kawardha Palace - A simple three hours drive from Kanha Reserve can take the visitors to this astounding palace which was built during the year of 1936-39 by the King Dharamraj Singh. Now the area being famed as the traditional resort is being spread in eleven acres and is being adorned with beautiful Italian Marble. The other attractions near the Kawardha Palace are Mandawa mahal, Krishna Temple, Madan manjari Mahal and Bhoremdeo Temple.

Kanha Safaris

For the most bewildering safari moments, 04 WD Open Jeep Safari is the coolest option to observe the wilderness of Kanha very closely and clearly. The 04*04 Open Jeep with the group of tourists is allowed in the park vicinity at fixed timings along with the company of an experienced naturalist. In Kanha, the tourists can find four different zones namely Kisli, Mukki, Kanha & Sarhi for enjoying the jeep safari rides. The added advantage of Kanha safari is that the wildlife lovers can easily make the online booking for the entry tickets or even get it from the tour operators if available, the entry tickets can also be collected from the booking window at the entrance gate of the national park. For additional services like vehicle charges and guide fee are other expenses which are demanded during the Kanha safari tour and are termed under the additional expenses other than the entry tickets.

At Kanha vicinity, a single day jeep safari can be done at two times, once in the morning shift and the other shift is for late afternoon safari in a six-seated open vehicle. In each vehicle 6 passengers are allowed to travel along with one naturalist and one driver. Noticeably, only limited no of vehicles are permitted to enter inside the forest in each shift. It is advisable to book the entrance ticket in well advance to avoid any chance of unavailability of safari seats.

Travel Information

By Air - Nagpur at 266-kms is the nearest Airport to visit Kanha National Park and is linked up by various domestic airline services with Mumbai.

By Rail - Jabalpur at 169-kms is the convenient rail head to visit the Kanha National Park.

By Road - Kanha National Park is well-connected by road with Jabalpur 175-kms, Khajuraho 445-kms, Nagpur 266-kms, Mukki 25-kms, Raipur 219-kms.

the accesses are : Koshi - Kanha (9-kms), Kishi - Katia (4-kms), Kishi - Mukki (32-kms). There are regular to and fro bus services available from Jabalpur to Kanha.

Regular trains from Delhi to Haridwar and Dehradun are available at all times of the year. Hire a cab or get a bus from here.

BY BUS:

Gaurikund is connected with motorable roads, and buses and taxis from important destinations like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri, Pauri and Chamoli are easily available.


Best Time To Visit Kedarnath - 

Summer -

Kedarnath remains carpeted with snow at this time making this place inaccessible for a while.

Morning drive to Sonprayag -Gaurikund (03 Kms drive-one way). On arrival Gaurikund starts your journey on the tough trek ahead. On arrival Kedarnath  and freshening up, perform Pooja and also Darshan at Shri Kedarnath Ji take rest & Over Night Stay at Kedarnath Ji Hotel.
