Heritage Walking Tour To Hooghly & Chandannagar

 

Activity Details –

We pick you up from your respected hotel and we leave for Bansberai, which is around 2 hrs drive from Kolkata. On reaching Bansberai, we take you to the famous religious sites. The temples of AnantaVasudeva and Hangseswari, showcase the spectacle work of  architecture. These temples offer a  memorable sight, which you will cherish for a lifetime.  
From there we proceed for Hooghly Chinsurah. It takes about 40 minutes drive form Bansberi to reach there. Here you will get to see the places of historical importance such as Bandel Church and Hooghly Imambara. The Bandel church is the oldest Christian church in West Bengal that was made to commemorate the settlement of Portuguese. Hooghly Imambara is a mosque cum Imambara that displays the beauty of art and history in a well manner.
Now it is time to move towards another famous site, Chandannagar, which was a French colony. It takes about 40 minutes to reach there by car. Chandannagar features beautiful tourist spot on the banks of the Ganga River and the other attractions included in the tour are Chandannagar Museum and Institute, the Sacred Heart Church and Nandadulal Temple. Take a look at some of the popular personality’s residences such as Rash Behari Bose, KanailalDatta and Sri Harihar Sett . At this point the tour comes to an end, you can precede back to the hotel.
